By creating these multidisciplinary paintings, I aim to represent the loneliness of children, as one of the most vulnerable groups of society, particularly the ones who are living with economic difficulties. In my paintings, I utilized different techniques such as photography, silk screen printing, and mark-making to generate meaningful context based on my concept. In terms of materials, I used wood, paper, and textile as the principal media to create these artworks.
I used textiles in my work because this medium is one of the most significant materials in human life throughout history. Textiles carry emotional, social, aesthetic, and spiritual meanings. By creating silkscreen prints on textiles I visualized the concept of multiple layers of dream, time, and memory through iconography and pattern making. The subjects in my work are exclusively children. They connected us with the children's iconography of authenticity, simplicity, happiness, and hope as the values that have been missing in adulthood. In my works, I utilized layers of semitransparent paper to print monochromatic photos or draw on them. Making different layers assisted me goes beyond two dimensions and visualized the silhouette of childhood memories.
