Healing Bonds

I acknowledge the support of Canada Council for the Arts for the creation of this project. "Healing Bonds" is a mixed media painting created by integrating Persian miniature techniques, Persian calligraphy, cultural motifs and patterns in combination with Iranian architectural elements (Persian arches). By creating this piece, I have tried to connect Iranian culture with other Canadian nationalities by applying the figure of the arch bridge (symbolic for Iran’s once important status as a connector between civilizations along the path of trade routes) combined with Canadian national symbols as metaphors for overcoming cultural distances.
